Our Approach

low cost counselling norwich

At Time to Flourish, I use a Person-Centred approach unless an alternative request is made for a different modality; a typical session is based on setting a goal, being feelings focused, felt sense (Gendlin) reflection, making meaning from experience, broadening understanding, processing emotions, letting go, and working through your difficulties.

I use breathing exercises for anxiety, as well as grounding techniques to manage overwhelming emotions, and some mindfulness techniques to focus on the here and now.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT therapy

CBT is talking therapy which involves talking to a trained professional about your thoughts, feelings or behaviours. It is a safe space for you to explore what it is that makes you feel anxious, stressed, lonely, sad, whatever it may be that you’re struggling with.

CBT can last between 6-10 sessions.

Talking therapy sessions can be done in the comfort of your own home through video calls, or in person with your therapist or counsellor – whatever works best for you and your lifestyle

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

solution focused brief therapy

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) focuses more on the here and now, rather than the backstory of what brought you to counselling.

Solution-focused therapy can last between 6-8 sessions.

This method widely focuses on self-development, growth and responsibility and will help you work towards having a brighter outlook on life.

Counselling for Depression (CfD

CfD

CfD primarily focuses on how an individual experiences life uniquely. It supports you to reflect on how you are feeling, working with you to identify more complex feelings and emotions that may keep you stuck.

CfD can last between 8-20 sessions.

At Time to Flourish, your therapist will hold a space for you to primarily focus on your experiences by using metaphor and a dance of empathy.
